Article 1
The Finnish Competition Authority shall operate under the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and its task shall be the protection of sound and effective competition.
Article 2

The Finnish Competition Authority shall investigate the competitive conditions; examine competition restrictions; take measures to eliminate harmful effects of competition restraints; and take initiatives to promote competition and to dismantle any restrictive regulations and orders, and tend to any other tasks prescribed or ordained to it.
Article 3

(2) The Finnish Competition Authority shall, to the extent deemed appropriate, publish the results of its investigations insofar as it is considered necessary.

Article 4
More detailed provisions on the tasks, organisation, administration and posts of the Finnish Competition Authority shall be issued under a Decree.
Article 5
(1) This Act shall enter into force from 1 October 1988.
(2) This Act shall repeal the Ombudsman Act issued on 25 May 1973 (424/1973) and its subsequent amendments.
(3) Prior to the Act becoming effective, measures may be taken to fill the posts of the Finnish Competition Authority, likewise other measures deemed necessary to commence the activities of the office when the Act becomes effective.
